Kilowatt Turns on STAR

The $22.7 million, 3,700-member Kilowatt Credit Union in Madison, Wis., has joined the STAR Network and will be using First Data Corp. for its debit processing services and PIN-secured point-of-sale and ATM access.

The multi-year agreement gives Kilowatt CU access to new account access, payment option, fraud detection, back office and marketing support as well as to the more than two million retail and ATM locations in the STAR Network, Atlanta-based First Data said.

Kilowatt CU serves Alliant Energy Corp. and subsidiaries and residents of Columbia, Dane, Dodge and Sauk counties and has branches in Madison and Rio, Wis.

“As a member-driven organization, it’s important for Kilowatt Credit Union to receive value from every partner choice,” said Nicki Troia, the credit union’s president.

“Kilowatt’s members look to their credit union to provide them with secure and convenient account access wherever they go,” said Kevin Barry, general manager for the STAR Network.
