The $2.8 billionTinker Federal Credit Union recently donated $18,970 to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The money will help provide nearly 100,000 meals and was raised through a member response initiative.

“So we made a deal with our members. For every friend you help out by encouraging them to use TFCU’s affordable financial services, we’ll make a contribution to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma,” said TFCU President/CEO Mike Kloiber. “We thought we would get some good results because our members are particularly sensitive to issues like hunger in our state. We had no idea we would see such an overwhelming positive response.”

Nearly one in 10 Oklahomans belongs toTinker FCU, which now has about 257,000 members.

“We live here. We work here. We all have neighbors and friends who are hungry,” Kloiber said.
