July the Fourth the Hometown Way

The $158 million YOUR Community Credit Union participated in the Fourth of July parade in Coppell, Texas, for the fifth year. The parade is held in neighborhoods and draws two to three thousand residents cheering for the fire trucks, funny costumes, colorful floats and candy, said Rick Stokes, the Irving, Texas, credit union’s vice president of marketing.

“Being named ‘Most Spirited’ finalist one year and ‘Best Decorated’ another has helped the credit union be recognized,” said Rick Stokes, vice president of marketing at YOUR Community CU. “But I really think the success of our name and brand recognition in the area has simply been participating year after year and being involved in other activities in the community.”

He said YOUR Community CU has been voted Coppell’s best credit union for two years in a row, and that the 12,200-member credit union plans to add a second community July 4th parade to its schedule next year.

The parking lot was a place to gather before and after the parade, and a good place to get in the spirit.
