CUNA Mutual Holding Co. has a new director on its board.
Caren Gabriel, president/CEO of the $1.6 billion Ascend Federal Credit Union inTullahoma, Tenn., has been appointed to the company’s board of directors effective June 1.
Gabriel has been with the credit union since 1985 and has served as CEO for the past eight years. Ascend FCU serves more than 137,000 members.
From 1985 to 2004, Gabriel served Ascend as executive vice president and general counsel and, in 2004, was named president and CEO.
CUNA Mutual recently held board of director elections at its annual meeting.
