AEA FCU Sentencing Put on Hold Following Liddle’s Stabbing

William Liddle, the former lending officer convicted in the AEA Federal Credit Union case, was reportedly stabbed Monday morning.

According to the Yuma Sun, Liddle’s attorney, David Eisenberg received a call from Liddle saying that he was hit in the head and when he came to there was a knife in his chest.

Liddle was scheduled to be sentenced Monday for his role in a million-dollar loan kickback scheme that led to conservatorship and near collapse of AEA FCU in Yuma, Ariz.

Liddle was taken to the hospital, the publication reported. Eisenberg said Liddle was not seriously wounded and wanted to attend the sentencing. He is still set to be sentenced at a later date.

Meanwhile, Liddle’s wife, Rhonda, was sentenced to 12 months’ home incarceration and five years of supervised release for her role in the loan scheme.
