New Filene Project May Put Credit Union Cards in Front of Thousands

A new research project conducted by Filene Research Institute may enable thousands of consumers using Amazon.com to apply for credit union credit cards and will reward those who apply successfully.

The Madison, Wis., research organization has launched a pilot project to study how credit union credit card programs might benefit from participation in Card Central: a credit card “storefront” that will enable consumers to  search for cards offered by both banks and credit unions and read user generated reviews of them, Filene said.

“Approved customers will receive Amazon.com gift cards from many banks and credit unions after they apply on the issuer's website,” the research organization added to a web log entry about the opportunity.
