Congressional Federal Credit Union announced today that 188members of Congress have agreed to serve as honorary race chairsfor the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run 5K Run-Walk.

This year's event is scheduled for April 1 and again will raisefunds for the Children's Miracle Network.

“Congressional support for the Cherry Blossom race is unprecedented,” said Charles A. MallonJr., president/CEO of the $705 million CFCU. “The participation from the Capitol Hill community hasenhanced the collaborative efforts of credit unions to raise fundsfor Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and is greatlyappreciated.”

Speaker John A. Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid,Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, Assistant Democratic Leader JamesClyburn and Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson are the membersof the leadership in Congress who have already agreed to serve ashonorary race chairs along with District of Columbia Mayor VincentD. Donations to the Children's Miracle Network helps children in170 hospitals across the U.S. and Canada afford treatment.
