Maine Senator Snowe Keynotes Small Biz Session on Facebook

At the request of Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), the Maine Credit Union League is encouraging credit unions to attend a Facebook event Tuesday that will teach small businesses how to use the social media channel to help increase sales and traffic.

Officials with Facebook will be at the Augusta Civic Center.

Snowe, who is a ranking member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, will also speak at the event. She said companies such as Facebook are among those helping the country in information technology innovation.

Quincy Hentzel, the league’s director of governmental affairs, said Snow’s office contacted her and asked if she would invite credit unions to attend the free Facebook event.
