SBA’s Anne Rice Hunt (left) and Robert Nelson (third from right) congratulate Workers’ Credit Union’s Bob Gallo, Dave Rodgers, Brenda Ring and Jeff Turcotte for being the SBA’s number one new business lender of the year in Massachusetts.

Workers’ Credit Union said it has been recognized by the SBA as the number one new business lender of the year in Massachusetts.

“This is quite an accomplishment, considering that there are over 160 SBA lenders in the state,” said Anne Rice Hunt, SBA assistant district director.

The $800 million Workers’ CU in Fitchburg, Mass., has been an SBA lender for four years.

“Small businesses are the engines that drive our economy, so it is particularly gratifying that we can help local businesses and add new jobs,” said Doug Petersen, president/CEO of Workers’ CU.
