NAFCU Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jay Morris announced Wednesday he will leave his post this fall after more than a decade at the trade association.
“I’ve got a great team that can step up to the plate and NAFCU is doing quite well and will continue to do so. I’ve been here for 11 years and it is good time to try something new,’’ he told Credit Union Times.
Morris, who said he would probably leave after NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus in September, said he was exploring several possibilities, including starting his own firm.
Before joining NAFCU in 2000, a few months before Fred Becker came on board, Morris was a top executive with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers.
“During his tenure at NAFCU, Jay has played a key role in improving our electronic and print publications, expanding our press relations and fine-tuning our marketing programs,” Becker said in a statement.
