An Oklahoma City credit union member is now driving his car without having to make any more loan payments.

Eric Franklin was recently selected as the grand prize winner of CUDL’s SMART Giveaway.

The auto lending CUSO paid the remaining balance of $2,950.61 on his car loan. Franklin is a member of the $353 million Oklahoma Employees CU.

CUDL said its year-long contest gave members the opportunity to win monthly prizes consisting of $500 American Express gift cards and the grand prize of having their credit union car loan paid in full by the CUSO.

CUDL credit union members were entered into the SMART Giveaway by requesting an online auto quote from a CUDL dealer through the CUSO’s AutoSMART vehicle research and shopping website or by applying for a pre-approved auto loan through their credit union’s SMART Approval program.

“With only about 30% of members looking to their credit union for auto loans, the goal of the sweepstakes was to help our credit unions increase awareness of their auto loan services with their members and to drive new loan opportunities,” said Mike Federoff, director of product solutions at CUDL.
