Washington State CEO Announces Retirement Plans

Add MountainCrest Credit Union President/CEO Bob Schumacher to the growing list of leaders who will be retiring next year.

Schumacher, who has been with the $82 million Arlington, Wash., credit union for some 15 years, the last nine as CEO, plans to step down Jan. 15.

Schumacher began his 34-year credit union career at CUNA and has served on local, state, regional, national and international boards and committees, including with both the Washington and the National Credit Union Foundations.

Schumacher has also worked on two WOCCU People-to-People projects in the Philippines and is the recipient of the Washington Credit Union League’s Ambassador Award for lifetime credit union contributions.

Schumacher said he and his wife, Diane, plan to move to Walla Walla and try their hand in the wine industry.
