The Members Group has named Shazia Manus, the president/CEO of an Ames, Iowa , credit union as its new president/CEO.
Manus, head of the $276 million Greater Iowa CU, succeeds Tom Kuehl, who earlier this month announced his planned retirement from the Iowa Credit Union League cards processing affiliate by yearend. The Manus appointment is effective Aug. 5.
Manus began her career with Greater Iowa in 1999, and has spent the past six years serving as CEO. As CEO, said a release, “she engineered a significant turn-around of the institution, achieving substantial profitability and membership growth. She also led a multi-million dollar business acquisition, adding to the credit union’s overall value for members.”
“Shazia’s wealth of industry knowledge and passion for the credit union movement will be a tremendous asset to TMG,” said Patrick Jury, president/CEO of the Iowa League and CEO of Affiliates Management Co., the parent company to TMG.
“As we enter a new era of leadership for TMG, innovation, collaboration and transformation will continue to be cornerstones of our strategic future,” said Jeff Russell, chief strategy officer of AMC. “I am looking forward to working with an industry leader who can offer valuable insight and knowledge as we continue to serve the needs of our clients and their customers.”
A native of Bangladesh, Manus earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Iowa State University and graduated from the three-year Certified Chief Executive program from CUES.
