California Lawmaker Taps KeyPoint CU Small Business of the Year

The $750 million KeyPoint Credit Union will receive a Small Business of the Year honor from one of California’s legislators.

The award coincides with California Small Business Day, which recognizes the contributions of local small businesses. Each year, every state legislator chooses one small business in their district that has had a positive impact in the community.

Assembly Member Paul Fong of the 22nd District selected KeyPoint in Santa Clara to receive this year’s recognition, according to the credit union.

Located in the Silicon Valley, KeyPoint said it is active in the community supporting the local school district, providing financial education classes to parents, collecting school supplies and donating computers and network equipment.

The credit union said it works with many nonprofit organizations and is a supporter of the Mission City Community Fund, which aids groups in the areas of performing arts, social services, education, health care and the environment.

Fong will present KeyPoint with the award at a May 20 ceremony.
