Meriwest Issues 1,000th Youth Account Card

Meriwest Credit Union of San Jose, Calif., announced it has issued its 1,000th youth account card in a year.

The Flow Card is a Visa debit card for young people ages 13 to 24 that comes with the credit union's Flow Account, which can be managed jointly by the teen and a parent.

"This account helps create a dialogue between the parent and youth to learn important lessons on budgeting and responsibility," said Tony Cortez, vice president of marketing at Meriwest.

Young people can access their account through a branded online portal (www.meriwest.com/flow) and parents can access the account through Meriwest's online banking system.
