Beverly Hills City Employees Federal Credit Union, based in one of California's most affluent communities, did not get a Hollywood ending.

"After several months of analysis and stakeholder engagement, NCUA determined that merging Beverly Hills City Employees Federal Credit Union into Nuvision Federal Credit Union was in the best interest of its members," the federal agency announced on Tuesday.

Beverly Hills City Employees FCU was the fourth financial cooperative to be consolidated with the $3.9 billion Nuvision in Huntington Beach, Calif., since 2024.

In January, the NCUA conserved the credit union for its unsafe and unsound practices.

At the end of this year's first quarter, the $14.9 million Beverly Hills Employees FCU posted a $111,690 loss compared to a $35,000 loss in March 2025. During the same time periods, net worth dropped to 12.88% in March 2026 from 16% in March 2025. And while membership fell to 1,255 in March 2025 from 1,588 in December 2024, it rebounded to 1,750 in March 2026, according to NCUA financial performance reports.

Moreover, from 2021 to 2025, Beverly Hills City Employees FCU recorded losses in four of the five years. Following losses of $43,887 and $48,159 in 2021 and 2022, respectively, the credit union posted a gain of $120,186 in 2023.

But in 2024 and 2025 the credit union posted its largest losses of $136,936 and $688,265, respectively, NCUA financial performance reports showed.

Although Beverly Hills City Employees FCU managed insured shares and deposits that totaled more than $12.5 million, it recorded $554,876 in uninsured shares and deposits, according to its first quarter Call Report.

The credit union, which had served city government employees and their families since 1954, employed four people and operated one branch.
Nuvision serves nearly 205,000 members from more than 50 locations in the Golden State, Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming and Washington.

In addition to Beverly Hills Employees FCU, three other California credit unions have merged with Nuvision since 2024, including the $79.2 million Paradise Valley Federal Credit Union and its 4,377 members in National City and the $126 million Cooperative Center Federal Credit Union and its 7,969 members.
