The $8.5 billion, East Lansing, Mich.-based MSUFCU announced eight board appointments.

Bill Beekman was elected to the MSUFCU Board of Directors for a three-year term. Beekman serves as vice president for strategic initiatives at Michigan State University, where he has served in various roles for over 30 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Elizabeth Lawrence was elected to the MSUFCU Board of Directors for a three-year term. Lawrence currently serves as an independent consultant for Michigan State University, where she previously served for 12 years as an assistant dean and senior associate dean, according to her LinkedIn profile. Before that, she served in operational roles at Michigan State University/MSU Health Team for eight years.

Lynne Zelenski was elected to the MSUFCU Board of Directors for a three-year term and has transitioned from associate director to director. Zelenski serves as director of academic services, department of accounting and information systems for Michigan State University, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Vennie Gore has transitioned from the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee to serve as associate director on the Board of Directors. Gore currently serves as EVP for administration at Michigan State University, where he oversees multiple departments.

Michael Hudson has transitioned to emeritus status after serving on the Supervisory Committee from 2011-2014 and on the MSUFCU Board of Directors since June 2014. A longtime advocate for accessibility and inclusion, Hudson previously led the MSU Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities for more than 32 years.

Amy Basel has joined MSUFCU's Supervisory Committee, transitioning from the Reseda Group Board. Basel currently serves as EVP, CFO and chief revenue officer at Delta Dental of Michigan. She previously served in roles at Deloitte, Kraft Foods and Kemper Insurance.

Cheri Speier-Pero was named to the Reseda Group Board of Managers. She is currently the Emeritus Ernst & Young Professor in Accounting and Information Systems at MSU's Broad College of Business. Speier-Pero joined the university in 1997. She previously served on the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee from 2007-2011 and the MSUFCU Board of Directors from 2011-2014.

Ben Louagie has been appointed associate manager on the Reseda Group Board. Louagie brings more than 20 years of experience in policy strategy, operations and innovation commercialization, and currently advises Corewell Health's Innovations Office while serving as a Health Care Investment Advisor for Michigan Rise.
