ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Four years ago, Centrix Financial LLC introduced its Portfolio Management Program (PMP) that allows credit unions to provide auto loans to members who have low credit ratings and are considered risky loan prospects. The financial and risk management company has announced that the first special financial auto loan made under PMP was successfully paid off and at full term. Centrix Financial said several aspects of the loan make it noteworthy. First, because the borrower made regular payments on the car loan as well as other outstanding credit, her overall credit score improved from an initial score of 500 to a score of 620, effectively going from a low "D" to a solid "C" credit score. Second, the loan went a full four-year term. Since Centrix made its first loan in 1998, the company has underwritten 28,401 special finance loans totaling $441,401,424.
