Mission FCU, Time Warner Help Homeless Dress for Success
6/25/2009

To help the homeless and the poor find jobs, Mission Federal Credit Union and Time Warner Cable are teaming up for the Clothes 4 A Cause business outfit drive.

People are encouraged to donate ready-to-wear business outfits to benefit individuals enrolled in job training programs with the Alpha Project, a San Diego-based nonprofit human services organization that serves more than 2,000 men, women, and children each day, many of them homeless, with job training and other programs.

“With the soaring unemployment rates in San Diego County, it’s imperative that Alpha Project program participants are provided more support to help them obtain their first job as they go along the road to recovery,” Tricia Link, vice president of communications and community relations, at $1.9 billion Mission FCU in San Diego.

The month-long clothing drive kicks off on July 1. Business clothing can be dropped off at the credit union’s branches and Time Warner Cable locations. In its eighth year, the Clothes 4 A Cause campaign has collected more than 9,000 in business outfit donations, according to officials.
