From coast to coast this past week, seven credit unionsannounced hires, promotions and honors. Plus, the Illinois CreditUnion League promoted an executive.

EAST

|

Linda Armyn, SVP of corporate affairs at the $7.7billion Bethpage Federal Credit Union in Bethpage,N.Y., was recently honored by the YMCA of Long Island at theirannual “Diamonds & Burlap” benefit. Armyn and Bethpagewere honored for their great commitment and continued support ofthe YMCA of Long Island. Armyn has served on the board ofdirectors at the YMCA of Long Island since 2003 and recentlycompleted her tenure as chair in July 2017, a position she has heldsince 2014.

MIDWEST

|

The $921 million Consumers Credit Union inKalamazoo, Mich., hired one employee and promoted another.

Mark Candey (pictured) was hired as mortgageloan officer at the 9th Street office in Kalamazoo. Candey hasmore than 24 of financial experience. Prior to joining Consumers,he worked at large financial institutions. He brings experience allaspects of mortgage lending, including processing, underwriting andclosing.

Mitch Vrooman was promoted to mortgage loanofficer. Vrooman has worked at Consumers for nearly three years ina retail role prior to transitioning into the mortgage departmentto offer additional support to the team.

The $3.4 billion Veridian Credit Union inWaterloo, Iowa, hired two employees and promoted four others.

Christi Hulme (pictured) was promoted tovice president of the member contact center. Hulme, a resident ofTraer, has worked at Veridian for 22 years. She was previouslymanager of the member contact center. Hulme has a degree inbusiness administration from Upper Iowa University.

|

Areli Solorio was promoted to communityrelations coordinator. Solorio, a resident of Bellevue, Iowa,started working at Veridian in March. She was previously a memberservice representative. Solorio has a business administrationdegree with an emphasis in finance and banking from the Universityof Nebraska at Omaha.

Anne Britson (pictured) was promoted tomember experience team lead. Britson, a resident of Hudson, hasworked at Veridian for 12 years. She was previously a strategicresearch specialist. Britson has a bachelor’s degree in marketingand Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa. She also has amaster’s degree in business administration with an emphasis inmarketing research.

Amy Woods was promoted to integration analyst.Woods, a resident of Hudson, has worked at Veridian for nine years.She was previously an eServices specialist. Woods has a degree incommunication studies from the University of Northern Iowa.

Staci Duffy was hired as mortgage lendingoperations supervisor. Duffy, a resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa, wasa mortgage banking officer at BankIowa prior to joiningVeridian.

|

Brian D. Campbell was hired as PC specialist.Prior to joining Veridian, Campbell, a resident of Omaha, was aSharePoint developer at McCallie and Associates.

|

The $998 million SPIRE Credit Union based inFalcon Heights, Minn., promoted two employees.

Mary Vonch was promoted to Princeton branchmanager. She joined the credit union in 2013 as a memberservices representative. She has also worked as a financialservices officer and assistant branch manager. A nearly20-year financial services industry veteran, she worked inmortgage/consumer lending and personal banking prior to joiningSPIRE.

Tyler Roelofs was promoted to Princetonassistant branch manager. He began his career with SPIRE in2012 as a member services officer. Tyler holds a bachelor’s degreein business administration from North Central University.

SOUTH

|

The $2.3 Robins Financial Credit Union inWarner Robins, Ga., hired two employees.

John McMath (pictured) was hired as branchmanager. McMath has worked in the banking industry for the past 13years. McMath has a bachelor’s degree in business administrationfrom Georgia Southwestern.

|

James Schoepf II was hired as informationtechnology manager. Schoepf has worked in the informationtechnology field for the past five years. He is originally fromJones County. Schoepf has a bachelor’s of science in informationtechnology from Macon State College.

The $359 million Peach State Federal CreditUnion in Lawrenceville, Ga., hired JohnFair as chief of staff. Fair previously served asthe president/CEO of Southeast Federal Credit Union. SoutheastFederal Credit Union and Peach State recently merged. Fairwill join Peach State’s executive team full-time, working out ofits corporate headquarters in Lawrenceville, Ga.

The $2.2 billion Truliant Federal Credit Unionin Winston-Salem, N.C., promoted Sherri Thomas toSVP, human resources and organizational development. In this role,Thomas has assumed full responsibility for the human resources andorganizational development department. Thomas joined Truliant in2010 as regional director of Truliant’s central region of memberfinancial centers.

The Illinois Credit Union League promotedAshley Sharp to vice president, stateadvocacy/legislative counsel. Sharp served the league for nearlyfive years, most recently in the role of legislative counsel anddirector of state advocacy. In her various roles, Sharp has focusedon building positive relationships with members of the IllinoisGeneral Assembly in order to educate them on the vital role creditunions play in the state.
