Much happened in the credit union industry this past week as faras executive moves.

Here's a look at those who were honored, promoted and newlyhired.

EAST

TheCooperative Credit Union Association selectedMaria Thomasian, business development officer atthe $833 million RTN Federal Credit Union inWaltham, Mass., as a 2016 Credit Union Rising Star. Thomasianjoined the RTN staff three years ago as a loan processor and waspromoted to her current position as business development officer inJanuary 2015.

SOUTH

NAFCU chose ChristopherO’Connor of the $7.1 billion Randolph-BrooksFederal Credit Union in Live Oak, Texas as CEO of theyear. O’Connor joined RBFCU in 1989 and holds a wealth ofexperience across a variety of departments, including internalaudit, mortgage, consumer lending and branch operations.

The $226million New Horizons Credit Union in Mobile, Ala.,promoted one employee and hired another. NitaNichols was promoted to call center manager. Nicholsjoined the credit union in 1999 as a teller at the West Mobileoffice. She most recently held the position of call centersupervisor.

Tamela Bartlett was hired as vicepresident of lending. Bartlett has more 20 years of experience inthe financial industry. She was most recently employed withCitizens National Bank as senior vice president.

The $319 million ASI Federal Credit Union basedin Harahan, La., hired Sonya Jarvis aspresident/CEO. Jarvis succeeds Mignhon Tourné, whois retiring after serving as ASI's CEO for more than nine years.Jarvis comes to ASI after spending the last eight years withBusiness First Bank in Baton Rouge, La., where she served asexecutive vice president and COO/chief risk officer.

The $68million First Abilene Federal Credit Union inAbilene, Texas hired Troy Kyle as president/CEO.He succeeded Faye Smith, who retired on March 31.Kyle has more than 16 years of senior executive experience in thecredit union industry, with 11 of those in a senior managementcapacity. Most recently, he served as vice president at the $312million Public Employees Credit Union in Austin, Texas.

MIDWEST

NanMorrow joined the $451 million Hoosier HillsCredit Union in Bedford, Ind., as senior vicepresident/chief marketing officer. Morrow brings more than 20 yearsof credit union experience to Hoosier Hills, having previouslyserved in senior management positions at other credit unions.

The $167million KALSEE Credit Union in Kalamazoo, Mich.,promoted Richard (Ric) Baker to vice president oflending. Baker joined the KALSEE team in 2011 as business servicesmanager. During the course of Baker's leadership, KALSEE's businesslending portfolio has grown to more than $10 million.

The $3.2 billionWright-Patt Credit Union in Beavercreek, Ohiohired two new employees. Amy Reilly was hired asvice president of human resources. Reilly comes from The StandardRegister Company and has more than 20 years of strategic leadershipand human resources experience.

Frank Petrie was hired as director ofretail mortgages. Petrie has more than 11 years of mortgage lendingexperience and more than 20 years of experience in the financialservices industry. Frank most recently served as a mortgage areasales manager at Fifth Third Bank in the Dayton and Cincinnatimarkets.

The $2.9billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowapromoted two employees. Zachary Adams was promotedto team leader in the member contact center. Adams has beenemployed at Veridian for eight years, most recently as a seniorloan officer.

TammyThrasher was promoted to the position of integrationanalyst.

Patrick Pierce, president/CEO of the $457million City & County Credit Union in SaintPaul, Minn., was inducted into the 2016 Credit Union House Hall ofLeaders for his dedication to and impact on the credit unionmovement. Pierce has been a leader in the credit union movement fornearly 30 years and is actively involved in advocating forMinnesota credit unions at the state and national level.

VENDORS

DRN hired Michael Villanova asdirector of channel sales. Villanova will be responsible forworking with DRN's auto finance channel partners including AlliedSolutions and Shaw Systems.

J.R. Bruno &Associates, a consulting firm to SBA and business lenders,promoted Rebecca Mendoza to senior associate.
