The $2 billion Chartway FCU and its divisions of HeritageWestand SouthWest Community Credit Unions partnered with employees andmembers to collect a record number of toys to support the MarineCorps' Toys for Tots program. Supporters of the Virginia Beach,Va.-based cooperative exceeded its goal of 3,200 items, collecting4,183 new, unwrapped toys for children in its communities.

These results reflect ourgenerosity of spirit – a culture rooted in helping others,financially and charitably. Our employees and members have much tobe proud of,” President/CEO Brian Schools said.

In addition to supporting the Toys for Tots Drive, Chartway andits divisions made contributions to several other charitiesthroughout the year, including the Samaritan House, the SalvationArmy and the American Red Cross.

The organization's charitable arm – the We Promise Foundation –also raised nearly $900,000 this year through fundraisers includingits Diamonds in the Sky Gala and Charity Golf Classic. Thefoundation makes dreams come true for children battlinglife-threatening illnesses.
