peter sourceI wanted to share my opinionregarding the great article I read in Credit UnionTimes. It was the Oct. 9 article by David Morrisontitled, "Immigrants Present Opportunities."

This has certainly been the case throughout the history of ourgreat country, and I enjoyed reading this article. However,in the fifth paragraph, first sentence, I simply wanted to sharewith you that I disagree with its inference.

I trust Mr. Morrison is referring to the GOP in his reference tothe "negative comments being made about immigrants during thecurrent presidential primary season". If I'm correct, Mr. Morrisonshould have edited his own article to articulate accurately why thenegative comments are being expressed/discussed.

To clarify, the negative comments that I've heard and read aboutcenter on illegal immigration and not simply immigration. So thisarticle should have made that very important distinction. It didn'tand that's why I wanted to reach out to you.

So although I truly enjoyed the article and agree with the themeof its message, the author left out one extremely important word, illegal, when referencing the negative comments.

Whether on purpose or by accident, this omission may give yourreaders the wrong impression of the debate currently going on.

Since America is a melting pot of different ethnic backgrounds, immigration into America continues to be a great thing. Whenit is done illegally, then that's where the problem is and that'swhere the debate needs to be.
