The Alpharetta, Ga.-based Safe Systems has announced that itsNetComply+ solution, a cloud-based toolset for managing andmonitoring credit unions' growth, compliance demands and security requirements from a central location, is nowavailable.

“NetComply+ is designed with customization in mind,” JaimeDavis, vice president of education, product management and qualitycontrol at Safe Systems, said. “This solution is for financialinstitutions that may have larger internal IT departments, or wishto have shared control over its IT management. This solution isbuilt to be a one-stop shop for managing a Windows environment in acompliant and scalable fashion.”

The cloud-based service gives the financial institution completecontrol over the system itself, the company said. The institution'sIT department can add users, update and patch machines, or write their own scripts to roll out to anyof their devices, such as desktop computers, laptops and servers.Since there is no limit as to how many users can be added, financial institutions with active growth strategies can quicklyscale up without the need to undertake a major project to do so.Safe Systems houses all of its hardware on a secure data center, and a small piece of software installed on every machine in-housecommunicates back to Safe Systems and provides machine managementcapabilities.

NetComply+ features include remote control, event logmonitoring, and patching for both Windows and applications such ashistorically vulnerable programs, Adobe and Java. With compliancedemands increasing, it is particularly important for credit unionsto be able to prove that it has such controls that it has in place;NetComply+ is compliance-centric and provides extensive, customizedreporting to help audits run more smoothly and keep credit unionson track, the company.

Making quick, enterprise-wide patch updates can be critical andoverwhelming for any IT department – on February 10, for example,Microsoft released nine update bundles to plug at least 55 separatesecurity vulnerabilities in its Windows operating system and othersoftware, and three of the patches fixed Windows bugs thatMicrosoft considered critical.

“Safe Systems has a history of developing the right tools forour customers that their IT needs demand,” Darren Bridges, president of Safe Systems, said. “We saw that there was a gap in ITmanagement and monitoring capabilities for institutions in theindustry that were growing at a rapid. We knew we needed to providea solution to our banking and credit union customers that gave themthe standard reporting and management tools, without compromisingthe institution's ability to enhance or build their own ITmanagement tools using our framework.”
