The $966 million Arkansas Federal Credit Union in Jacksonville, Ark., saidMonday that Vice President/COO Rodney Showmar will replacePresident/CEO Larry Biernacki when he retires Aug. 4.

Showmar also was vice president of marketing and businessdevelopment at AFCU from 2001 to 2008, and prior to that worked asa senior marketing research analyst at Reliant Energy and a seniorbuyer at Dillard's Inc. He was also the founder of Partygras PartyRentals Inc. in Little Rock.

“Rodney has extensive operations and financial managementexperience and is just the individual to lead us on our continuingjourney of growth and development,” Phillip B. Boudreaux,chairperson of the 95,500-member credit union's board, said in theannouncement.

AFCU was founded in 1956 to serve Little Rock Air Force Base.Following nine mergers in the 90s, it now is the state's largestcredit union, the announcement said. Biernacki has been president/CEO since 2005.
