Mark's Gourmet Dogs, a recipient of a business loan from MSUFederal Credit Union were recently selected as the winners on theFood Network's series, “Food Court Wars.”

Mark and Krysta McGee, owners of the eatery, competed on theshow to win a food court space for a year at the Lansing Mall inLansing, Mich., beating out Grand Grillin for the top prize,according to the $2.6 billion MSUFCU in East Lansing, Mich.

Working with the Small Business Development Center at LansingCommunity College, the pair created a business plan, and with thehelp of MSUFCU and the startUP loan, the McGees had the chance tomake their dreams a reality.

The credit union introduced the startUP loans in 2012. The program is open to entrepreneurs whowant to start businesses in the Michigan counties of Clinton, Eatonand Ingram. Loans are available up to $15,000.

“MSU Federal Credit Union's startUP loan was exactly what weneeded to get the doors open,” Mark McGee said.

Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU's president/CEO, said the credit unionis hoping to provide the same opportunities for other businessventures in the Greater Lansing area.
