The $531 million Community Choice Credit Union on Monday moved toward a future without teller lines, according to an announcement from the Royal Oak, Mich., institution.
The 53,000-member credit union will remodel its existing eight branches to eliminate teller windows and will build a ninth branch without them.
"We believe that our members make the best financial decisions when they are most comfortable," said Philip Cooper, chief operating officer. "With these changes, we will offer hands-on and engaging support for those who need it, as well as high-tech and self-serving options for those who prefer independence. This is the future of banking."
