OSCUI Value: Debate
Stuart Perlitsh, president/CEO of the $336 million Glendale Area Schools FCU in Glendale, Calif., has done it again.
The outspoken CEO who sued executives and directors at the failed Western Corporate FCU, and has been quoted by bank lobbyists in advocacy campaigns, recently caused a new stir with his April 16 letter to the editor questioning the return on investment for the NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives.
Based on the dwindling number of small credit unions, Perlitsh said the NCUA should audit the office's programs for effectiveness. Some readers agreed with him, but most did not. Read Perlitsh's letter to the editor and responses from readers below.
