Julie Kirsch, president/CEO of the $1 billion Meriwest CreditUnion in San Jose, Calif., gave the keynote address at a studentnetworking event as part of the Academy of Finance Program atIndependence High School. The event presented the students achance to engage in social mixing, networking and buildingrelationships. It also included a panel of business speakers andbreakout business education sessions. The Academy of Finance isoffered at more than 260 high schools nationwide and offers coursework on accounting, trade, leadership and technology and theopportunity to earn college credit.
