Northern Credit Union is teaming up with some of Canada's topathletes to launch a new crowdfunding website to raise money for projects throughout theSault Ste. Marie, Ontario, communities where the $700 millioncooperative is based.

The crowdfundingsite, which enables people to contribute small amounts of moneyto reach a fundraising goal, is promoting two campaigns.

The first campaign involves Sault Ste Marie's Ryan Fry, E.J.Harnden and Ryan Harnden. They are members of Canada's Olympic goldmedal-winning curling team who are raising money for the NorthernOntario Curling Association.

The second campaign includes brothers Mac and B.J. Marcoux ofCanada's Paralympic ski team, who are supporting ParasportOntario's Ready,Willing and Able program. This initiative allowsathlete ambassadors with disabilities to share their inspirationalstories with school communities and other local organizations.

Northern CU will match all funds raised up to $3,000 for eachof the two campaigns.
