Thanks to a $20,000 grant from CUNA Mutual Group, the WorldCouncil of Credit Unions will continue its efforts to support womenin credit union leadership roles worldwide.

The World Council Global Women's Leadership Network Scholarshipaims to further the careers of emerging credit union leaders bysupporting projects that solve a problem or meet a credit unionand/or a community need, according to CUNA Mutual.

The network is seeking scholarship candidates, who can apply andsubmit their project description at www.CUwomen.org. Successful projectswill address a credit union and/or a community need and further themission of the applicant's credit union. The application deadlineis March 28.

Scholarship candidates will be selected to attend the 2014Global Women's Leadership Forum and World Credit Union Conferencein Australia July 25-30.

While at the forum, the selected candidates will present theirprojects to the network membership. Network members will then voteon which candidates will receive support for the implementation oftheir project.

Those chosen will carry out their project from August 2014through June 2015 and will return to the 2015 Global Women'sLeadership Forum in Denver to present their projectresults.

Beyond the scholarship, CUNA Mutual said it has expanded itssupport of World Council initiatives and recently became the onlyDiamond Level supporter of the organization's foundation.
