Verity Credit Union recently announced that a mother of four andblogger from Marysville, Wash., has been selected to serve as aspokesperson in 2014 for the $414 million Seattle co-op.

Mollye Taylor has been named the new Verity Mom, a programlaunched in 2009 to connect with local families, the creditunion said.

“Mollye has the right balance of online presence, authenticcontent, writing ability and video skills for the job,” said MelinaYoung, director of marketing for the 27,000-member Verity. “She'spersonable and quirky, and we can't wait to see what she does withthe Verity Mom role.”

Along with the job title, Taylor will receive a $20,000 one-yearcontract for the part-time gig, a MacBook Pro computer, an iPodTouch and a video camera, Young said.

Taylor was selected from more than 30 women who applied throughan online job search at veritymom.com, the credit unionsaid.

Contestants competed against each other with videos and blogposts. After an in-person meeting with other applicants, and tworounds on online voting, Taylor came out on top, the credit unionsaid.

Taylor, who is the third Verity Mom, took over from DanielleGahl in November.

“We also want to thank Danielle Gahl for doing a fantastic jobas the Verity Mom for the past two years,” Young added. “Danielleis amazingly talented and the new Verity Mom has big shoes to fill,in her own way.”
