The Californiaand Nevada Credit Union Leagues have partnered with MOGL, arestaurant rewards platform in San Diego, Calif., to pilot aprogram that will help feed needy families in local communitiesthrough credit unions' credit and debit card programs.

When credit union members charge more than $20 on their debit orcredit card at a participating MOGL restaurant, a meal will bedonated to a local community foodbank via Feeding America. Inaddition, credit union members also receive 10% cash back by usingtheir credit or debit cards when they dine at participating MOGLrestaurants.

The MOGL program can work with a credit union's existing cardreward program, according to the California and Nevada Credit UnionLeagues.

“Partnering with a company such as MOGLwill allow our member credit unions to continue to practice theirphilosophy of 'People Helping People'—helping to eradicate hungerthrough the donation to food banks and supporting theircommunities,” said Tony Kitt, senior vice president of strategic innovation andplanning for the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues.

MOGL is the largest restaurant rewards platform in California,with close to 2,000 restaurants enrolled. MOGL members havereceived more than $4 million in cash back, and its Meal for a Mealprogram has donated nearly 500,000 meals to Feeding America and itsnational network of food banks.
