Lucy Halstead Named President/CEO at First New York FCU
The $272 million First New York Federal Credit Union in Albany said Tuesday it has named Lucy Gottung Halstead as its new president/CEO.
Halstead had been senior vice president/chief operating officer and succeeds Rachele Granka, who retired last month, the 28,900-member credit union said.
Halstead joined First New York in 1998 and since then “has been instrumental in supervising branch operations and the management team and continuously upgrading technological banking opportunities for the membership,” the credit union’s board of directors said in its announcement.
“She has also been on the forefront of overseeing business development and marketing strategies for the credit union,” the announcement said.
First New York was founded in 1937 as Schenectady Teachers FCU and now has seven full service branch locations, it said, and five in-school branch offices run by student volunteers inside the Duanesburg, Albany, Schenectady, Mohonasen and Schoharie high schools.
