PSCU said this week it is now offering a remote deposit capture solution of its own.
The payments CUSO said it using technology from Cachet Financial Solutions in Minneapolis to offer the service to its nearly 700 member-owner credit unions as a standalone app for flatbed scanners or integrated with mobile banking.
PSCU said the rollout follows a pilot program at two member-owner credit unions. The CUSO said 570 of the two credit unions’ more than 61,000 members found and began using the RDC service before either credit union began marketing it.
“Remote deposit capture is one of those go anywhere, do-anything products that are becoming increasingly integral to serving non-local members and allow credit unions to operate on parity with institutions that maintain much larger branch networks,” said Fredda McDonald, executive vice president, Credit Union Experience, at PSCU in St. Petersburg, Fla.
