Jim McCormack, president/CEO ofthe Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, has been named one ofthe three recipients of the 2014 Herb Wegner Memorial Award forLifetime Achievement, the National Credit Union Foundation saidFriday.

McCormack will be honored with the other recipients at a dinnerhosted by the NCUF on Feb. 24 during the GAC in Washington, D.C.,the NCUF said.

McCormack, who plans to retire Dec. 31, first joined the industry in 1971and his contributions include leading the creation of paydaylending alternatives, state credit card processing and ATMinitiatives and establishing a statewide credit union awarenesscampaign, the NCUF said, and he also has been an advocate forcredit unions statewide and on the national level, the NCUFsaid.

Jim has done outstanding work at the Pennsylvania Credit UnionAssociation throughout his career,” said John Gregoire, chair ofNCUF Wegner Awards Selection Committee and president of The ProConGroup in Madison, Wis. “Countless credit union members have beenpositively affected by his work and is evidenced by the passion andcommitment of his numerous supporters.”

Three of next year's four Wegner Award winners have been namedand the fourth – also for lifetime achievement – will be announcedin the next week, the NCUF said.
