The $126 million Canyon State Credit Union in Phoenix, Ariz.,has hired Jane Dobbs as its new president/CEO.

Dobbs will succeed the retiring Steve Dunham as CEO of the 16,700-member Canyon State inSeptember, the credit union said.

“Jane brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that willhelp transition Canyon State strategically into thefuture while maintaining financial health and a priority focuson member service,” said Brett Moulton, Canyon State's boardchairman.

“I am excited to be joining the Canyon State team and help buildon the success they have experienced” Dobbs said in the creditunion's announcement, adding, “We are sad to see Steve leavehis post as CEO and transition into retirement, but areenthusiastic for his future endeavors and wish him all thebest.”

Dobbs has more than 30 years of financial services leadership,most recently as interim CEO at the $275 million CPMFCU in North Charleston, S.C., and her work has includedhelping to guide troubled credit unions as interim chief retailofficer for Texans Credit Union and as a senior consultant forArrowhead Credit Union in California, her new employer said.

She began her career in branch management for the former WesternSavings and Loan in Phoenix and held a variety of leadership roleswith Bank of America in retail branch administration, mortgage andconsumer lending, Canyon State said.
