The $1.7 billion Founders Federal Credit Union in Lancaster, S.C., has openedits 22nd in-school branch, this time in the Academy forTeaching and Learning in nearby Chester, S.C.

The branch will be open for deposits every Thursday morning andeach student who starts an account becomes a member of the196,200-member Founders.

The new branch is the credit union's sixth in Chester Countyelementary schools, said community relations coordinator BrianBass. He said nearly 60 students made deposits on opening morningon July 25.

“This is a great partnership between Founders and Chester County SchoolDistrict,” Bass said. “Students learn such valuable life skillsthrough saving money.”

Outside of school, Founders operates 24 offices and two servicecenters in South and North Carolina and said it plans to open a25th branch this year.
