The $1.7 billion Founders Federal Credit Union in Lancaster, S.C., has openedits 22nd in-school branch, this time in the Academy forTeaching and Learning in nearby Chester, S.C.
|The branch will be open for deposits every Thursday morning andeach student who starts an account becomes a member of the196,200-member Founders.
|The new branch is the credit union's sixth in Chester Countyelementary schools, said community relations coordinator BrianBass. He said nearly 60 students made deposits on opening morningon July 25.
|“This is a great partnership between Founders and Chester County SchoolDistrict,” Bass said. “Students learn such valuable life skillsthrough saving money.”
|Outside of school, Founders operates 24 offices and two servicecenters in South and North Carolina and said it plans to open a25th branch this year.
