Last week the $780 million 3Rivers Federal Credit Union in FortWayne, Ind., became the nation's first credit union to launch Picture Pay, a mobile photo bill payment solution developed byMalauzai Software and Allied Payment Network, the companies andcredit union said.

The stand-alone Picture Pay solution enables credit unionmembers to pay bills by taking a picture with a mobile device, andentering the payment amount and due date, the press releasesaid.

Currently, 17% of checking account holders at the 67,000-member3Rivers utilize its mobile platforms, according to a statement fromthe companies and 3Rivers FCU.

“Mobile adoption continues to dramatically increase among ourmembers, and the addition of mobile bill pay fills a void in ourmobile platform that members have been requesting for quite sometime,” said Melissa Shaw, marketing communication manager for3Rivers. “The addition of Picture Pay enables us to fulfill ourmembers' need for a simple mobile bill pay solution, as well asincrease mobile adoption and member satisfaction.”
