The $606 million St.Mary's Credit Union in Marlborough, Mass, held a ribbon cuttingand grand opening for a new branch earlier this week inWestborough.

Formerly a Friendly's Restaurant, the building had beentransformed into a full-service banking facility that will enablethe credit union to expand its market in three communities. Thecredit union now operates seven branches.

“The credit union's newest branch is located at the intersectionof Routes 9 and 30 and provides a highly visible presence for us,”said St. Mary's CU's Marketing Vice President Tony Battista. “This location is especially convenient for people and businessesthat bank with us from the communities of Westborough, Southboroughand Grafton.”

Jim Petkewich, vice president of the credit union's retailservices, said the new branch has already attracted a lot of newmembers since it opened for business several weeks ago.

Participating in the ceremony were members of St. Mary's boardof directors and management as well as representatives from thetown of Westborough and the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce.
