The New Jersey Credit Union League announced Friday that GregMichlig, CUES senior director of member relations, has been named thepresident/CEO.

Michlig will join the league on May 20, replacing formerpresident/CEO Paul Gentile, who left the league at year-end 2012 totake an executive vice president position at CUNA.

Tom Griffiths, retired president of the Iowa Credit Union, hasbeen acting as temporary CEO of the New Jersey League since thebeginning of this year.

|

Michlig began his credit union career at CUES, working at theprofessional development firm from 1995 to 1999. He left to workfor Pemco Technology Services as a senior account executive, butreturned to CUES in 2008.

“Greg is widely known in the industry and has a long list ofassociates throughout the country, which will help him to continueto move the league forward as a respected resource,” said NJCULChairman Lou Vetere in a release.

“He has a proven track record of initiating and cultivatingrelationships that will serve him well as he meets with our creditunion leadership,” Vetere said.

“He is a strong believer in communicating with members andunderstanding their needs so that the league can provide theservices necessary to help our members succeed. He also has astrong track record of initiating and embracing innovation,” theleague chairman said

Michlig said in the release that he looks forward to continuingto build upon the league's momentum.

“It has been a great pleasure working with the league board ofdirectors throughout this process and I am eager to beginmeeting with the credit union community throughout the GardenState,” Michlig said.
