The $829 million, 56,100-member USAlliance FCU in Rye, N.Y., hasmerged the $970,000, 473-member UniteHere FCU in New YorkCity.
|UniteHere began in 1937 and, formerly known as the DressmakersCredit Union, served garment, food service, hotel and health careworkers in the city.
|USAlliance said in its announcement that the small credit unionhad initiated a search several months ago for potential mergerpartners.
|USAlliance now has two branches in Manhattan and said the mergerallows it to expand its presence in the New York City area.
