The $162 million, 16,300-member St. Helens Community CreditUnion in Oregon is bragging on three of its student tellers.

The high school kids – Melanie Naillon, Jake Stafford and ParkerSnook – won top honors among students from 50 schools at the FutureBusiness Leaders of America state competition held recently inPortland and now get to participate in the national conference inJune in California.

SHCU operates branches at St. Helens and Scappoose high schools.The three winning students work there and at the credit union'sother branches.

“Our high school tellers are bright, enthusiastic, and we areespecially proud of the way these three students are representingour credit union and community,” said Brooke Van Vleet,president/CEO of the 16,300-member SHCU.

Melanie, who attends St. Helens High School, finished firstplace at state for hospitality management. Jake and Parker attendScappoose High School and finished first place for banking andfinancial systems.

SHCU said it is helping the three student tellers raise funds topay for the trip to the national conference.
