NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz today announced the selection ofMilagro Avalos to be associate regional director-programs for theagency's Region IV office in Austin, Texas.

Avalos joined NCUA in 1999 after 13 years in the credit unionindustry and in the auditing profession. Prior to her selection asassociate regional director, she served as a division ofsupervision analyst and a supervisory examiner in Region II and asa field examiner in Region II and the former Region VI.

She has received recognition as examiner of the year, supervisorof the year, and the NCUA equal employment opportunity achievementaward.

Avalos holds a master's degree in business and leadership fromLiberty University and a bachelor's degree in accounting fromStrayer University.
