A 36-year member of the Postal Credit Union Board of Directorswho steps down at the end of this month has been awarded the CreditUnion Builder Award from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation.

Roger McClure joined the board of the St. Paul credit union in1977 and has served in a number of key positions as Postal CU grew from one branch in the main post office to fiveoffices, $540 million in assets and 45,500-members.

He also spent “countless hours lobbying state and nationallawmakers on issues of importance to the industry and PCU,” the MnCUF said.

The foundation, part of the Minnesota Network of Credit Unions,presents the award to people who have dedicated time and energy tobuilding the credit union movement, the MnCUF said.

“On behalf of the credit union industry in Minnesota, Ithank Roger for the time he spent as a tireless advocate and avidsupporter,” said MnCUF Chair Pat Brekken, president/CEO of the $251million Richfield-Bloomington CU in Richfield, Minn.

The foundation said McClure joins 14 other Credit Union BuilderAward recipients over the past six years whose names and creditunions are permanently displayed in the Minnesota Credit UnionNetwork's lobby.
