Former CUNA executive Chris Johnson will become president/CEO ofthe Idaho Credit Union league on June 3, the league saidTuesday.

Johnson will succeed Alan Cameron, who is retiring on June 3,the league said.

Johnson was vice president of state governmental affairsat CUNA from 2006 through 2010 and prior to that was managingassociate general counsel for Freddie Mac. He most recently was aconsultant with The Collingwood Group in Washington, D.C., workingwith compliance consulting and mortgage purchase and servicingclients.

“I and the entire board are confident that Chris Johnson has thetalent, skill and experience to build upon the foundation ofservice excellence the league has established under the leadershipof Alan Cameron and to lead us into the future,” said the league'schair, Brent Neibaur, CEO of the $108 million Advantage Plus FCU inPocatello, Idaho.

Johnson said, “I am a strongly committed advocate for creditunions. The Idaho Credit Union League CEO position provides anattractive opportunity to support and advance the credit unionmovement in the Gem State. I have a strong attachment to Idaho,based upon bonds of friendship and an affinity for its culture,history, and scenic beauty.”

Johnson is a graduate of Brigham Young University and of theUniversity of Utah Law School. Idaho's 56 credit unions representmore than 620,000 members.
