To help assist small and minority-owned businesses, Workers'Credit Union said it has made a $20,000 contribution to the NorthCentral Massachusetts Development Corp.
|The development corporation works with local financialinstitutions to assist businesses throughout the region, said the$913 million Workers'CU in Fitchburg, Mass.
|David McKeehan, president of North Central MassachusettsDevelopment Corp., said the credit union's donation will beinstrumental towards its goal of increasing economic opportunitiesfor residents and businesses.
|Contributing to the effort was in keeping with the creditunion's goal of doing what's right for the community, said Doug Petersen, president/CEO of Workers' CU.
|“The more we can foster economic opportunities, the more it willhelp create a stronger and healthier community,” Petersen said.
