The $256 million Freedom FCU of Bel Air, Md., is reaching out to localbusinesses that may need to finance tax payments after a localpayroll service firm allegedly pocketed payroll taxes.

AccuPay, a payroll firm also headquartered in Bel Air, wasclosed Feb. 27, according to reports in the Baltimore Sun,after two clients filed suit claiming AccuPay had collected nearly$400,000 combined in payroll taxes but failed to send them to thegovernment. President/CEO Rose Ann Lambert said Freedom is offering its financialassistance to help these businesses pay unexpected expenses to meetstate and/or federal government payroll tax withholdings forremittance to the IRS.
