A powerful winter storm wailing through the nation’s midsection has forced more than 20 credit unions and two CUSOs to close in Kansas, said Susan Dyer, communications director for the Kansas Credit Union Association in Wichita.
“The KCUA offices are open, with some staff working from home,” said Dyer. “Twenty credit unions have closed at least one branch, but most have closed all their branch locations.”
Capitol CUSO and Educational CUSO, both in Topeka, have also closed their offices.
Much of Kansas is under a winter storm warning. As of noon Thursday, the storm already dumped more than 13 inches snow in parts of the state as well as parts of Nebraska and Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service.
