A little over a month after Delta Community Credit Union namedan interim CEO to step in after president/CEO Rick Foley retired in December, the cooperative has madeseveral promotions on its management team.

Matthew Shepherd has been named executive vice president andchief operating officer.

Shepherd joined Delta Community more than five years ago and most recentlyserved as senior vice president, marketing and member service.

He has 20 years of communications and operations experience andpreviously worked at NetBank, Georgia Credit Union Affiliates andAmerican Lawyer Media, according to Delta Community.

William Buchanan has been appointed senior vice president,corporate audit. Buchanan has worked at the credit union for a yearand was previously vice president, internal audit. He has more than25 years of experience in risk management and internal/externalaudit, which includes positions at SecureWorks, S1 Corp., FederalReserve Bank of Atlanta and the Office of Thrift Supervision.

Robert Manning has been appointed senior vice president andgeneral counsel. Manning joined the credit union more than twoyears ago as vice president and general counsel. He has practicedlaw for more than 20 years with a focus in financial services formost of his career.

Shepherd and Manning report to Hank Halter, Delta Community's interim president/CEO, andBuchanan reports to the credit union's board of directors.

“Matthew, Bill and Bob have extensive experience and skill intheir respective areas of responsibility” Halter said. “They alsobelieve deeply in our mission to serve and create value for ourmembers. I know they will continue to make a positive difference inDelta Community's success.”

Halter, a current board member at Delta Community, took the helmon Jan. 1 while the $4.3 billion cooperative continues its searchfor a permanent successor.

Founded in 1940, Delta Community now serves nearly 266,000members.
